About Me

Rod’s roots are in Moravia where he grew up being a proud Mohawk. His first “real job” at the age of 16 was at the Rathbun Marina. For 2 ½ years, he worked the gas dock, picked up garbage, read electric meters and pulled sour dock weeds and grass out of gravel for a whopping $2.65/hour. He later worked on his grandparents farm for a summer in exchange for a set of tires for his ‘65 Mustang. Rod mentions these early job experiences because it was during these years he learned the value of hard work.

Rod joined RRWA (Rathbun Regional Water Association) in 1987, 38 years ago, one day after graduating from Northeast Missouri State (Truman State) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology. During Rod’s time at RRWA he has had the opportunity to play several roles in the company.

A fun fact about Rod is that he traveled with a country/rock band called The Gentlemen Four during high school and through college. After retiring from the band, he can occasionally be spotted picking up his guitar in his “shop” while listening to classic rock and country music.
